Yanapuma Spanish School offers the best quality instruction in Quito. The Spanish School is oriented towards socially and ecologically aware backpackers, tourists and professionals, motivated to learn Spanish and to experience Ecuador in the fullest way possible.
The Spanish curriculum was developed by qualified linguists, and provides the highest standards of teaching by highly experienced teachers, a wide range of materials for all levels of Spanish, and weekly monitoring of student progress. The teaching materials include professional texts, a library, Spanish language films, and a language laboratory for practice in pronunciation, comprehension and vocabulary.
The basic Spanish program includes 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, of one to one Spanish instruction. Classes normally run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2.00 PM to 6.00 PM. We can arrange group lessons with advance notice, but most Spanish students find that individual instruction is the most effective method to learn the language. If you would like to arrange a different class schedule, the school can usually accommodate your needs.
Yanapuma Spanish School and Yanapuma Foundation offer a program of intensive Spanish learning, combining classroom Spanish instruction, community volunteer work, and cultural excursions in and around Quito.
This program aims to help people in local communities while providing extensive opportunities for the student to explore the diverse cultural and touristic sites of Quito. The program also provides an immersion experience in the Spanish language, with 4 hours per day of Spanish classes and an additional 4 hours of volunteering two days per week and 4 hours of excursions two days per week. Students are accompanied by a teacher during these activities, and thus have a total of 36 hours per week of Spanish practice, both in the classroom and in real world situations outside of the classroom.
Volunteer Program: Yanapuma offers volunteers the opportunity to contribute to the development of these communities in several ways; through long-term volunteering opportunities, shorter group projects, and cultural exchange programs. We also offer internships with the foundation as well as supervised study and research opportunities. You can learn about all of these by clicking on the relevant tab of the menu bar above.
