I'm interested in doing a couple of weeks of volunteer work at an orphanage and I spotted an interesting volunteer program at cloudforestecuador. They seem to be called Eco-volunteer UP. Has anyone heard of them/had any experiences with them? Do let me know as I'm thinking of applying. If anyone has any other suggestions of similar projects, I'd also be happy to hear them.
Thanks! |

| For what it's worth I recommend it! I love Ecuador! I have spent lots of time volunteering in Ecuador, specifically 1 year in Galapagos Islands, and 2 months in Nanegalito just about 15 minutes away from that sight. The cloud forest is beautiful, especially if you like the beautiful green outdoors. Its nice also because you can just hop on a bus to Quito, or go to the coast and other parts of Ecuador. I dont have any knowledge of your specific location, but just the fact that they have a pretty good website, good english, and a PLAN, means that you may have a chance at avoiding some of the uncertainties of such adventures. Good luck on whatever you choose. |

Mindo is a lovely place, and very close to the place mentioned in the website.
I volunteered in Mindo 5 years ago. I loved it.
My stay was arranged through a local organization here in my country, but the local rainforest-conservation organization was called Los Amigos de la Naturaleza. They organized the stay for the volunteers. |
