FUNDECOIPA
Fundacion de Desarollo Indígena de Pastaza (FUNDECOIPA) was created in December 2005. It is an indigenous non-profit NGO with its head office in the Shuar community Arutam in the Pastaza province of Ecuador. The foundation manages the 2710 hectare Arutam Rainforest Reserve and provides volunteer, tourism and research opportunities within the reserve and Shuar communities Arutam and Musap. FUNDECOIPA was founded as a response to the social and economical difficulties faced by its members and neighbouring communities. Volunteering with FUNDECOIPA is not only about work. It is also a cultural exchange and opportunity to learn about the Shuar culture and volunteers will be living and eating with Shuar families and are invited to participate in all community activities.
Jatun Sacha Biological Foundation
The Jatun Sacha Biological Foundation is a nonprofit private Ecuadorian nongovernmental organization dedicated to the conservation, investigation, management of ecologically important habitats, and environmental education and community development, was established in Amazonian Ecuador in 1985. The volunteer programs offers opportunities to develop a wide variety of activities including data field research, environmental education, community service, plant conservation, agroforestry, and reserve maintenance along with the smaller objectives that include the promotion of biodiversity conservation, research, education, and other community programs. Activities are carried out in each of their 8 biological stations.
UBECI
UBECI is an Ecuadorian non-profit organization which works in the favor of impoverished people in Quito Ecuador. UBECI wants to take part in the process of a social change that complies with the demands of Ecuador. Through the work experience in social projects in the past we have realized that especially the children of the society need help. UBECI is an organization that strongly relies on the support of volunteers from all over the world and we are open to all people willing to dedicate their time to social work. Volunteering with UBECI offers our participants a very special experience by getting into contact with the Ecuadorian people and becoming deeply involved in their way of life.
Fundacion Zoobreviven
Fundacion Zoobreviven is a private Ecuadorian, non-profit organisation. It was created in 1997 and is recognised by the Ecuadorian Ministry for the Environment. The Fundacion objective is to conserve the biodiversity of Ecuador through responsible use of natural resources, scientific research, environmental education, wildlife, plant and tree conservation and development of economic alternatives for local communities. The Fundacion Zoobreviven manage three reserves in Northern Ecuador, including the 2500 hectare Alto Choco Reserve and the nearby 7500 hectare Chontal Reserve, both in the Choco Bioregion. The Fundacion Zoobreviven helping with reforestation, reserve management and learning about this unique ecosystem.
