The school is located in the heart of the historic district of Cuenca, one block away from the main square and the Cathedral.
The school building is an old colonial style house with more than 30 rooms. In addition the building has a patio for students to relax, read a newspaper, drink a cup of coffee or check mails on the internet.
The dedicated staff and teachers help you feel right at home at the school from the very first day. There is always someone around to help you out in whatever you need - books, traveling, questions or to send an e-mail back home.
The Simon Bolivar spanish school offer high-quality Spanish lessons, either private or in group, for all levels, Individual Lessons, Group Lessons and Volunteer Program.
Individual Lessons: Based on a broad experience we can almost guarantee that you will be able to speak quite fluent Spanish after 4-6 weeks of study. We always recommend 4 hours of instruction per day.
Group Lessons: The Simon Bolivar school offers group lessons in small groups (max 4-6 students). These lessons are usually for beginners and start on the first days of each month. Require a minimum of 4 weeks of study for group lessons (4 hours per day).
Volunteer Program: The Simon Bolivar Volunteer Program is based upon the idea that the essence of volunteering is to give and recieve. The Volunteer Program will enable you to make a significant difference in someone life by giving your valuable time and effort. At the same time you will improve yourself both personally and professionally.
Simon Bolivar is recommended by the Ministry of Education and you will receive an official certificate when you have completed a two month course and taken an exam. Students who spend less time at the school will also receive a certificate from the school.
The Simon Bolivar offers a range of different activities for each day, so you can combine them with your Spanish program. You will be able to join group lessons in the afternoons: dancing, cooking, cocktail, Ecuadorian culture, soccer games, and we also organize cultural events, parties, special topic lessons, among many others! You will definitely have fun.
Dancing lessons: The dancing lessons are conducted by a local salsa teacher! He teaches you how to dance Salsa, Merengue and other Latin American dances. Students often end up at one of the local "Salsotecas" to practice more dancing after the classes.
Weekend trips: The school offers trip every weekend out Cuenca either one or two days. We sometimes visit the National Park of El Cajas, where we walk around some of the lakes in the area.
