Have a reasonable budget, perhaps US$500 or a little more, and would like to stay somewhere in the thick of the forest from where there are guided excursions. Also hoping this will be somewhere that I can enjoy when not trekking, perhaps with decent birdwatching? Would be grateful for any thoughts from anyone who´s done the same recently. Thanks.
