I have heard that another way to see the Galapagos is to stay at a Hotel on
one of the islands and travel from it.

Clearly a disadvantage of this is that you can't see some of the far
reaching islands.

But, is it necessary? I've heard that the staying at the Hotel is one way
to save money.

Right now I am looking at boat trips that cost about $1,300 for a 8
day/7night tour.

Does anyone know how much hotel tours run? If so, is it worth the savings?
