Hs anyone heard of HOstal Huauaki? Japonese-ecuafdorian owners, nw-ish?
Need a base for a couple of weeks in Dec. Want local flavor and character!, comfort, hot water in private bath, good beds, breakfast, Considering Cartuja/ rabida/ San Francisco/ San Sebastian?

Under 60/night.

We like to stay at La Casa Sol. I have stayed there many times. The owners are from Otovalo, and so are many of their staff. So some are dressed in their traditional clouths. I think it was about $42 a night last April. It is not fancy but rather homey. One thing that I really appreciate is they always carry through with what you asked them to do. Like, pick you up at the airport, arrange for a taxi at a certain hour, wake up calls ect... They also have a gorgeous place in Otovalo, La Casa Andina.
