|

I am planning to move to Cuenca within the next year, but I would like some advice as to whether or not I should start out working at a hostal for room and board until I find a house to buy (I 'm not rich, so something affordable but nice) and a job. I speak fluent Spanish and have been to Ecuador 2 times but I am wondering which bigger cities are affordable. Unfortunately, it is tough to find this type of info by just doing simple research...
Any help is greatly appreciated |

| If you have an investment income of $50K per year, you could live very comfortably in Ecuador. My wife and I just purchased a new Penthouse Condo in beautiful Cuenca. If you have the ability to buy an apartment, you can buy new ones from $40K up. If not, you can rent from $350 - $450 a month. Not counting rent, you can easily live on $1,200.00 USD per month. Cuenca is beautiful, safe, and very clean. It is the cultural capital of Ecuador and the people are wonderful. |
