Any one done that trip?
From Manaus with boat to Tabatinga...than continuing on boat to Iquitos, with plane to Lima and hop on bus...
Thats the trip i think is the best mix between time and price...anyone has experiences with one of that ways of travel?
Think possible in 3 weeks.., |

I went from Quito to Manaus via colombia. I also took a bus from Lima to Quito so will try and help;
From Lima to Quito there are several buses. Ormeno have at least 1 a day, takes about 35 hours direct. If you decide to do the bus trip in stages be careful of the Tumbes border crossing, its a hassle to do by yourself.
I did the boat from Tabatinga to Manaus; the food is standard so take some fresh fruit, sling your hammock as high as you can and away from the toilets and engine.
I think 3 weeks is doable, as long as you dont miss any conections or your boat crashes ( we were 3 days delayed) You could definatly go Manaus-Leticia-Bogota-Quito in your time frame and its still wouldnt kill your wallet (probly $500 or so)
Also you are doing two long boat journeys which might get a bit repetative.
Hope this helps |
