| I'm traveling to Ecuador this October. I know all about the Galapagos, but is there any diving on the mainland? and if so, can someone steer me in the right direction with dive shops down there? |

Just got back from the Galapagos. Dove Wolf and Darwin 4 weeks ago. Can't imagine going to Ecuador and not going out to these incredible islands. The best diving anywhere!
Quito for a week is good - I loved that city and was there for about 4 days but wished I couldv stayed longer. Stay in el centro del mudo hostel if your a budget traveller looking to meet lots of like minded travellers and like good breakfasts!
In Guayaquil, you would want to visit the Malecon 2000 and parque de Iguana. These areas are now very secure and people strole along the malecon at night. I was amazed at how much it changed. If you like meat you will really enjoy Parillada Nato. It is well known so any taxi driver can take you there. It is an Argentinian grill. They will serve your meat choice on a small charcol grill so order your meat under cooked and you can slice it and let it continue to grill while you dine |
