Hi,

I am looking at going to Portoviejo in November to teach english for 3 months. Can anyone please give me information on Portoviejo. I am a single female, but will be living with a local family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Portoviejo is a great place in my opinion. Portoviejo is a very beautiful colonial city.

This city houses close to 200,000 inhabitants and is the capital of Manabi province as well as the main center for commercial activity, it's worth visiting because of its tagua workshops, the main street has several stalls selling tagua figures.

It is definitely worth a few days if you can fit it into your schedule.
