Will be in Cuenca next spring with my husband and two sons (11 and 14) and am trying to decide between the Hotel Crespo and the Santa Lucia. Can anyone give me some advice on which to choose?
Also, in Guayaquil, I'm thinking about the Grand Hotel. Anyone stayed there?

Regarding Cuenca, both are great hotels. I vote for Santa Lucia. It seems to me to be a little less intimate, which I prefer. Also, it's closer to the center of town (although Crespo is not far).

I can't comment on Guayaquil.

"A little less intimate" is what I think I prefer too - especially with the kids. Can't believe we're actually gonna do this trip!
Anybody out there able to comment on Guayaquil hotels?
