I've been told that both Ormeno and Cruz del Sur make the trip from Guayaquil to Lima, but I cannot find anything online (schedules, pricing, etc.). Ormeno's website is only is Spanish (unless there is something I don't know) and Cruz del Sur website doesn't list any destinations outside of Peru. Do anyone know where I can find a schedule? I am trying to meet up with friends on X-mas in Cusco, and would like to book my flight (from Lima to Cuzco) asap, but can't until I know about when I'll make it to Lima.
Thanks! |

Yeah Cruz del Sur only operates within Peru. Ormeno has the GYE - Lima route but it doesn't run everyday and I'm not sure what days it runs. Their website sucks it has never really worked right.
I think you'd be fine if you gave yourself 48-56 hours to get from GYE to Lima. I'm not sure about the Ecuador side but once you cross the border into Peru there will be buses leaving every evening, probably around 4pm, from Tumbes (northern Peruvian city) to Lima for the 17 hour ride. Cruz del Sur does go to Tumbes but I think Ittsa is a better company. If you find you can't get a nice bus out of Tumbes, take the 3 hour ride down to Piura on a crappy commuter bus and you'll have more options to get to Lima. |
