I'm planning on going to the Galapagos for ~8 days in about a month, and I have not completed my scuba diving certification. I've done the classes, but not the open water dives. I need some advice on whether to finish the certification beforehand or do the open water dives while I'm there (because they'll most likely be like a normal dive anyway, right?). Also, I heard that it might be hard to go diving if I don't have too much experience. Is my situation hopeless?
Thanks |

hi,
Why not contact Scuba Iguana who do a lot of this kind of stuff in Galapagos. The owner, Mathias Espinosa, is a very nice guy - though I think he spends more time now writing and producing music.
You can do tame dives in Galapagos, for your certification - but conditions can be challenging! I recall having the distinct feeling that I was in a washing machine! Also, mixing cold and hot water currents can produce poor visibility due to light diffraction.
Have fun! |
