Two years ago I went to Islas Galapagos with Galasam, based in Guayaquil.
They are well known and experienced, and I would recommend them. It was a
good trip. Check in the current 'South American Handbook' (Passport
Books) for info on this and other providers. Under any circumstances,
Galapagos are an expensive destination. Even with the deepest off-season,
last passenger discounts, it is going to be difficult if not impossible to
find a way to go for less than US$100 a day.
Having said that, it is an unforgettable experience that could never be
recreated anywhere else. Eight days is probably the minimum, go for as
many days and as many islands as you can afford -- you won't regret it.
Take A LOT film, because you'll use it. |
