We are considering taking an 11 day cruise with the tour company called Galapagos Travel out of California and with Barry Boyce as tour leader. We know Barry is the author of one of the travel guides to the Galapagos, but have not seen any information on his tours posted on this forum. The boat for this trip is the Tip Top IV and the hotel in Quito is the Grande Hotel Mercure Alameda.
If you have any experience with this tour group, the boat or the hotel, your comments would be appreciated. |

| Barry's put together a unique product in his 11 day cruise, with 2 naturalist guides, lots of emphasis on learning. My husband has dived with him in Galapagos and has met him on a few other occasions while working at the Darwin Station. His trips are solid, I would have no concerns. |

Hi,
We just completed a 11 day tour aboard the TipTop IV handled by Galapagos Travel.
This is a top shelf tour with a level 4 guide and a tour leader on the entire trip. The ship is clean and the crew is friendly and often we had the entire island to ourselves.
The hotel Mercure Alameda was the best hotel we stayed in during our 6 week trip.
This is an excellent choice and is an outstanding tour of the Galapagos Islands |
