Hi -- we are a family of 5 (kids 10,10,8 yrs) trying to decide between,for our April '07 trip: Mountain Travel Sobek's Parranda (very expensive)or Mary Ann (slightly less)ships, both with their own level III guides; Ecoventura's Flamingo(much less $), with no set guide -- could be level I,II or III; or booking the Evolution (mid-high $) thru Galapagos Traveller, with possibly level II or III guide. Not looking to skimp, but don't want to needlessly overspend, either. Any advice?? Thanks.

Hi! I was on Ecoventura's Flamingo last Jan. A Traveler's Guide to the Galapagos [which rates the ships & explains the naturalist ratings] rates Ecoventura as a highly respected organization that has been in business for many years with the some of the best naturalists in the Galapagos. I picked them for that reason. I was very impressed by not only the guides but the organization. I would highly recommend them. Also, I would highly recommend the book as well for anyone traveling to the area-it really gives you a good understanding of what to expect.
