Any advice re a recommended boat-taking up to 20 people- in mid price range for a week trip . Especially for a traveller with no sea legs!!
Thanks! |

| I would definitely recommend a smaller boat rather than a large. Apart from costing less you have a much more intimate and personal group and don't have to wait to do anything. The large boats you have to stand in line for an hour waiting to get on the dhingy to get to the island. On a small boat they shout out "we're leaving" and you do!! Also, you get the chance to meet everyone you are travelling with and get to know them better. I still email most people from my cruise. I went with Peregrine which cost around AUS$4,500 for 10 days (including flights from Quito and before and after accom). This is approx US$5,900. They only do the smaller boats (max 16 people). |

I agree with natty on the smaller boats being much nicer, more intimate and you get to spend more time on the islands.
But we paid a lot less, Us$ 1400,- including flights Quito -Galpos and 2 nights accommodation in Quito, excl. taxes upon arrival in the Galpos. Our boat was 'tourist superior'-class. That's for a 10 day trip (8 nights on the islands and 2 nights in Quito) |
