Having seen some of the major sights in South America my wife now wants me to take her to the Galapagos Islands.
As 62 year youngs we would welcome feedback from older travellers who has been there.
Yes, I have read everything in the South American branch after doing a search on Galapogas.
Yes, I am cross-posting on the Older Travellers branch. |

| My 82 year old mother and I (just 50) were on a Galapagos cruise on the MV Santa Cruz a few weeks ago. While I agree that the cruise presented no particular problems for older passengers, I can't agree that the walks aren't strenuous. Several of the walks required walking over rubble or rocks, or even climbing over small boulders, and the last couple days some of the older passengers had to quit going on the walks and do the easier boat rides instead. |

| Can recommend CNH Tours....run by a Canadian couple who worked for the national park on Galapagos for several years....so know the boats and guides and have useful local contacts. the boat was small but comfortable, with about a dozen passengers...I was 70, and not quite the oldest on board, but there were younger folks too, mix of Cdn, American and European. Excellent guide, food was good, nice crew. Lots of snorkeling....optional add-on trips before and after were good value too. |
