My buddy and I are considering a trip to the Galapagos
A good timing for us would be November or December.
Has anyone been there around that period?
Is there a "better" season for shark action? (hammerheads, white tips, etc.)
Also, has anyone been on the "other" live-aboards: New Daphne, Mistral, or Lammer Law?
Thanks!! |

Hi
The Best time for Hammerheads is the Fall ie October-November this is when you get the most Whale Sharks and Hammerheads are shoaling in the thousands.
That is why I specifically chartered my liveaboard for November 2005 as I wanted to take full adantage of the Hammerhead action.
This has been confirmed with a friend of mone just getting back and seeing 18 whale sharks and he also said the shark action was AWESOME. |

More big pelagic action in Oct, but early spring was nice, too. No whale sharks, but mantas, Galapagos sharks, white tip sharks & schools of hammerheads numbering in the 100s.
Pleasant temps topside in the spring, and somwhat warmer water.
It's pretty hard to have bad diving in the Galapagos.
Go for it. |
