| We'll be doing a cruise/tour of the Galapagos in December which involves "wet landings". What type of footwear would you recommend for these? Would a pair of Dunlop Volleys/cheap canvas sneakers be OK - the idea being that they'd be secure enough for rough terrain but cheap enough that we could discard them once they're waterlogged and probably wrecked. |

Wet landings are beach landings - you take your shoes/sandals off, hop out of the panga (small motorized dinghy), walk onto the beach, and put your shoes / sandals back on.
I wore sport sandals (e.g., Tevas) for all wet and dry landings, if that helps. Canvas sneakers probably aren't your best bet.
Enjoy,

| Flip flops or tevas are the way to go. Most wet landings, you can exit the boat barefoot and put your sandals back on on the beach. But some landings are on rough volcanic rock beach, where you probably want to wear the sandals in the water as you exit the boat, so you don“t cut up your feet. |
