I am planning a trip to Galapagos and trying to decide between a strictly boat based trip and a hotel stay with day trips. Hotel stays are deinitely cheaper, but will I see less? The two I found were Hotel Angermeyer and Hotel
Delfin.

Any advice anyone?

Boat is definitely better - I've done a week of each, and found that you
spend more time travelling on the hotel-based trip. If you sleep on the
boat, you do most of the travelling at night, and have the daylight hours to
enjoy a wider range of islands, animals, birds............

Quite a few of the people on my hotel-based trip chose it because they were
sea-sicky, but found it didn't help much - having said that the weather was
bad that week. Take Sea Bands and crystallized ginger if that's a problem -
most strong tablets knock you out which doesn't help your enjoyment.

Both the hotels you mention have good reputations. Whatever you choose,
you'll have a fabulous time.

Not really. I did the Galapagos on the 48-pax ship M/V Eclipse and, using the ship's tenders, we went to the same islands as the small boats. We were in three groups, each with its own certified guide. Since the Corinthian was not fully booked, each group was 12 or 13 in size.. Had all the comforts of home with private baths, A/C, bar and lounge, great crew and super food! I really recommend it especially if one is prone to the sea sickness that can come from rocking and rolling on the smaller boats.

Regards, Jannick
