I arrive in Quito Oct 12th and depart Oct 29, everyone has suggested I must see the Galapagos, is this true? If I do go I'm thinking 4 days tops, is it worth spending the $ for 4 days? All opinions greatly appreciated.

Yes go on a cruise in the Galapagos Islands, it is the best way to see the wildlife. I would spend a week, it is a trip you will never forget. You can get cheaper trips if you go to Quito and look for the last minute trips that are not fully booked. This is a very good way to do the Galapagos Islands.
