Hi,

Trying to dcide how far we can go, and have a great hacienda experience in about 5 days aftr our GAP experience.

And in relation to banos, cotapxi, or even furthur, where is Devil's Nose? Can it be done as a day trip from a wonderful hacienda that has hiking, horses, fishing, markets, etc? (IE: Adventure interspersed with relaxation!).

thanks!

You can't really squeeze the Devil's Nose train ride in with another thing because it's not that close. Maybe 2 hours from Riobamba. In Huigra there is a place called Hacienda or Hosteria Eterna Primavera, that is the only hacienda nearby Alausi (where the train departs from) and I don't think they offer horseback riding. It's sort of the middle of nowhere, used to be the hacienda of the Huigra station owner....

You can travel by train from Riombamba as well which is a much longer ride, but if it's a clear day you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Chimborazo volcano.

If you have just five days I would spend them in Quito and the Otavalo region, with a day trip to Cotopaxi. Leave out the Devil's nose.
