For our honeymoon my husband and I would like to visit the Galapagos. We plan on flying in to Baltra and then spending a few days in Puerto Ayora while my husband gets his advanced open water certification and I do a couple of dives and look around for a boat to cruise on. Does anyone have a recommended dive shop to use? Is Puerto Ayora the right place to hang out for a few days, both for diving and for booking a cruise?
Thanks! |

Yes, Puerto Ayora is the best place to hang out, both for diving and to find a cruise. San Cristobal would be the alternative, but there's more going on on Puerto Ayora.
Many divers speak highly of Scuba Iguana. I went on day trips with Albatros Tours and they were good too. SI's shop is located a bit outside of town, towards the Darwin centre (google it). AT are right down in the harbour.
You can do great diving day trips from Puerto Ayora. You might also want to try to get on a cruise that you can do diving from too, or one that can arrange for you to get on a dive boat certain days and do dives while you're on the cruise too. |
