| Hi We are looking forward to spend some days on galapagos island next November or December with our two kids (12 and 6 years old). In 2004 we already spent a whole month on these beautiful islands, one week on a really basic boat with about 12 passengers and shared bathroom. Can not remember its name. I can not find a similar boat although i am browsing for hours in the web. Can anyone recommend a boat that should not cost more than 80 $ p.p./day. Do they allowd children under 6 years? The really basic huts from Angermeyers in Santa Cruz do not exist anymore?! Is there something similar on the island, how is Puerto Villamil to stay for some days? Thanks for your advices. |

You can find budget boats at those prices - but they are really the lower end economy class, so be a bit careful. Try and ask zenithecuador (this is a galapagos tour operator). They have excellent prices - and always remember that the later you book, the cheaper the price if you know where to look. Always check out the special offers of the various operators.
November is the start of the low season so you can afford to book a bit later.
Also, always check out info about the boats - the best is to go around travel forums and ask the people for their opinions. But at that budget, don't expect much! |

| You could try GAP Adventures (Canadian co.) We found their prices quite reasonable and they have trips esp. geared toward families with children. |
