|
|
Hi. My wife and I plan to cruise in the Galapagos Islands within the next 2
months or so, but cannot seem to find enough info concerning the best time
of the year to be there. Are there certain months that the wildlife is most
visible/active?
Also, we know we can't see everything in a short time, but we wonder if the
5-day cruise is adequate or should we opt for the 7-day one?
Thanks, |

Go for a MINIMUM of a 7 to 10 day cruise (that way you'll probably get to
some of the westernmost islands (you'll probably never go back again -- so
see the most you can). Also, go on a SMALL boat -- no more than 30
passengers or so. Not as much luxury, but a much, much better wildlife
experience. After all, are you there for buffets and a big cabin, or to
see wildlife?
I believe the best time of year is generally from April through June -- I
went in April. Water was plenty warm. Snorkeling is a BIG BIG part of the
Galapagos. So plan on that as well. We saw almost as much IN the water as
on the islands -- sea turtles, moray eels, sharks, schools upon schools of
fish, sea lions swimming up to you. Did not get too much rain. |
