My wife and I are thinking of doing a Galapagos Islands trip the problem is she tends to get sea sick easily. Rough seas on a medium sized cruise ship (2000 passengers) give her problems. The patch plus pills will usually keep this under control but we've never really tested it on a small ship. We are thinking of doing a larger ship or a trip which is hotel based with just day trips. Can anyone tell me how rough the seas get around the islands? Does anyone have any suggestions for us? Can anyone recommend relatively inexpensive but nice large ship? Thanks

Hello,

I've been to the Galapagos on a 16 passenger yacht twice. During my second trip we hit rough sea once when we were finishing lunch, so by the end of that night most but 4 people got seasick. The patch was actually very effective for those who put it on. The trick is to put it on prior boarding the ship.

We had a good laugh the following evening, and in retrospect I wouldn't change anything. The smaller the group, the better, the Galapagos is about intimate interaction with nature.
