Hi,
Does anyone have experience with jungle tours in Ecuador? We are planning to go from Quito to Cuenca by train and from Cuenca to the Oriente. We ould
like to know more about this last part.
What is the best place to start a jungle-trekking? How long will it take to get there by bus? Are there any travelagencies there or should we hire a guide. We don't want to go on an organised tour from Quito and back. Any
information is welcome! |

Last december my husband, my daughter and myself took a trip to the jungle, but we didn't leave from Cuenca, we left from Quito to Misahualli, it was a 6 hours trip, wonderful, in Misahualli we stayed in a hotel called ALBERGUE ESPANOL it is owned by a man from Spain, very neat and clean, they offered a canoe tour in the Napo River into the jungle, we took the tour for two nights and three days with all meals included and the guide, and the beer (if you like beer, my husband loved ecuadorian beer). The trip in the river took about 4 to 5 hours, and we stayed in cabins in the middle of the jungle, don't forget your bug repellent!!
If you are going to Quito and planning to stay there for a few days, there are ecuadorian family stays, much less costly than hotels or hostals, let me know.
