Hi All,
I have read a lot on this site about trips to the Amazon. I would like to do this in Ecuador but have not found the help and direction i need to venture out. Is it best to leave from Tena, Coca or Banos? I have heard Yachana is wonderful but the price of $345 for three nights and four days is a bit too high for me. I will be leaving in the next week or so and am in Quito now. hope that is enough info to help me!! |

| Just posted similarly to the other guy, but here goes--I went to the lodge run by Sani Isla (Sani Lodge?) out of Coca on the Rio Napo for 3 days. I really loved it--the best jungle I´ve seen. It was spendy too, but I can't remember how much since it was a couple years ago (maybe it only seemed spendy because I was in college at the time?). The $ goes to the community though. I do remember the guide's name was Leonardo (great guy) & we saw 7 different kinds of monkey & a harpy eagle, & it was true primary forest. Haven´t been to Tena or Baños, so can't compare. I signed up at their office in Quito. |
