We were thinking of taking the Devils Nose Train and doing some hiking in Banos and by Riobamba if possible. Can we rely on the local bus system or do we need to hire a guide? We heard renting a car was a bad idea. Do we have enough time to go to both places in 4 days? Remember it is very narrow gauge and looked a bit creaky to us.
