We will be traveling in Ecuador next summer and won't make it to the Galapogos islands. I hear there are some beautiful beaches on the coast of Ecuador. Anyone have any first hand experience or recommendations with regards to beaches and accomodation near or on them?
Thanks |

| The Manabi provice has some good beaches too. I enjoyed Muisne (the island part) where I lazed around in a hammock and read a book and this was on the beach. If you like surfing Montanita is quite good too. There are also beaches near Puerto Lopez which have ecological accomodation which are good too. |

there are nice beaches around Puerto Lopez, Manabi province... but the beach of Puerto Lopez itself is rather dirty because its a fishing village. Montanita is good for nightlife but the beach was disappointing for me.
I recommend to stay outside of Puerto Lopez at hosteria-islamar there are two pristine beaches and it's close to the Machalilla National Park which has a beautiful beach. the hostel is clean, safe and the view is amazing, there's no nightlife!
