I'll be going to Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia and looking to do a rainforest lodge (about 10 days) from any of those countries.

Do you have any recommendations for lodges? Do I need to book ahead (I tried for one in Peru for early Aug, and they're totally booked!!)? Where's the best place to leave from.

Hi,

My husband and I are planning to visit the Sani Lodge in Ecuador in late August. Sanilodge. I can't vouch for it from personal experience, but it was recommended to us by some family friends. I believe you can book online, but maybe they have an office in Quito? Anyway, the price for 3 nights/4 days is about $370 (much cheaper than other options we looked into) plus the $120 plane trip from Quito to Coca (where they pick you up). There's also the option of taking a bus from Quito to Coca, but it's an eight-hour journey.
