Day 1: Papallacta
In the Amazon jungle, we’ll explore the Amazon culture, walk in the jungle, swim in natural river pools and raft down scenic jungle rivers.
We go out of Quito and come to the magical Papallacta Hot Springs. We continue driving eastward on the scenic road that drops to the Amazonian town of Tena, the traditional home of many Quechua tribes.
Day 2: Anzu River
After breakfast, you will first warm up with a rafting run on the Anzu River. This relaxing Class II + river is great for your first day in the jungle. Learn a little more about local culture and how to raft as a team while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A picnic lunch will be served on shore of the river, and then spend the evening relaxing.
Day 3: Llanganates National Park - Jatunyacu River
Day three starts with a short hike to natural river swimming pools in the Llanganates National Park where you will be able to relax, where you can calm your nerves before partaking in rafting down the rapids of the famous Jatunyacu River. Here, you can relax in the natural swimming pools and prepare for what lies ahead. Next, the navigation down Jatunyacu River begins. With fun waves, large holes, raging rapids, followed by extreme volumes of water, today is nothing but impressive. Beautiful scenery with vibrant flora, unique birds, and a variety of wildlife, surround you as you explore through Jatunyacu. In the afternoon we return back to Quito.
